April 20, 2007, Newsletter Issue #4: Finding A Reputable Online Degree in Criminal Justice

Tip of the Week

Get-Criminal-Justice-Degree.com Tip: The search for an online degree program in any field can be a daunting task, and even overwhelming. Prior to choosing the specific online criminal justice degree program, take some time to research both the school and the particular program of interest. Some suggestions are as follows:

Go to the library or research online to get more information about accreditation programs, the importance of online education accreditation and appropriate questions to ask when you are applying/considering an online bachelors in criminal justice.Ask for referrals. It is common for people to be interested in careers when we have friends/acquaintances/relatives that have had positive experiences in the area. Even if the person you know did not obtain an online degree in criminal justice, he/she may know someone who did. Plan to interview this person about his/her experiences and recommendations for that pursuit. Ask the experts. In other words, call potential places of employment and ask them about their opinion regarding online bachelors degrees in criminal justice. Schedule a time for questions as a sign of respect rather than shooting of questions over the phone when the person on the other end is either the wrong contact or unprepared.
Trust your instincts. If you try to contact an online university and the communication is sporadic, unclear or chaotic, then this is probably not a good institution to attend. This can be true for both online and on land institutions.
